Open to Women and girls over the age of 10, who will receive an introduction to softball cricket, bat and ball skills, fielding and fitness drills, before moving on to hardball cricket and outdoor training in the Spring.
The emphasis will be on the fun and team spirit that is unique to cricket, whilst keeping fit in a safe and pastoral setting. Our aim is to enter a team into the Women’s Midlands League Super 8s competition this summer, a fun and exciting introduction to competitive women’s cricket.
All equipment will be provided, but any participants who may have previously played are welcome to bring their own bats, gloves, pads etc.
‘ CRICKET IS A GREAT PARTICIPATION GAME FOR EVERYONE ‘
Alcester and Ragley Park Cricket Club encourages girls to join and play at all age levels, starting with All Stars cricket for 5-8 years-olds, moving through Kwik Cricket up to U11, U13 and U15 age groups. Our Junior section has achieved excellent progress in recent years, ensuring all team members, boys and girls, enjoy equal opportunities to play all formats of the game; from the Cotswold Hills 8 a side league to Warwickshire Sunday Premier League . Our approach has already seen one of our girls achieve County status and we hope to continue this success with our women/girls program in 2019 and onward. So why not come and join us?
