Second XI Stats

So we all know you've done really well over the season, but how good are you in comparison to everyone else? Are you getting better or are you just treading water? The stats below will show you how well you've done. Links open in Microsoft Excel.

2004

Despite losing more matches than they won in 2004 the Second's finished joint 4th in the Fourth Division, and if their terrible start to the season (Lost 3, Abandoned 1) was different they would surely have been in the mix for promotion

(2004 Olympic Games Athens)

2005

After a better start to this season the team found themselves missing out on promotion to the Third Division and finished third, they were a way off the pace of the promoted Woodbourne in 2nd by 50+ points and were 50+ points ahead of 4th.

(Pope John Paul II dies)

2006

Again a top/mid table finish for the 2nd's asthey finished behind Fladbury, Ashorne & Moreton in Marsh, 5 games succumbed to the weather so things could have been better.

(Daniel Craig's first film as James Bond in Casion Royale)

2007

Despite only losing 3 matches all season the team couldn't capitalise or better their previous year's standing and ended up finishing 4th again. A mid season lull where they lost 2 matches with 3 matches being lost to the weather in the middle may have contributed!

(Live Earth Concert London )

2008

The promise of the previous few seasons seemed to have disappeard in 2008 as the team dropped down the league finishing 20 points way from relegation, a horrendous run of 1 win in 15 matches saw the team almost give up thier status as a Divison 4 team, only a last day of the season win saw them stay up.

(The LHC at Cern is opened)

2009

11 losses and only 4 wins all season saw the team slip down into the Fifth Division in 2009, a late rally with 2 wins in the last 2 games showed there was some fight in the team ubt unfortunately it came too late and the 2nds were relegated.

(England regain the Ashes)

2010

At the first time of asking the team bounced straight back into the Fourth Division in emphatic style, finishing 2nd in the league but clear of 3rd by over 100 points the team got over relegation in some style.

(Eyjafjallajökull produces ash cloud that shuts Europe's airspace)

2011

Two promotions in two seasons looked like a real possibility in 2011 as the club posted some impressive batting performances throughout the season and only a last over loss to Wellesbourne meant the team missed out on promotion to Kenilworth Wardens by 6 points.

(An estimated 2 billion people watch William marry Kate)

2012

The near euphoria of 2011 was met with a mid-table finish in a very close table with 60 points seperating promotion and relegation, with 7 matches being lost to the weather it was always going to be a tall order to be promoted so we look to the next season!
